01 / THE FIRST MILLION

Earning the First $1.5 Million

Dr. Michael Chichester knows exactly what the first million feels like. In his first two years in business, he earned $1.5 million. The customers came, the money came, and the future looked wide open.

Reaching that mark taught him something most people never hear until it is too late: the first million is the easy part. The second million is a different game, with different rules, and it is far harder to win.

It is the lesson at the heart of his work with business owners and entrepreneurs, because knowing why the next million is harder is the first step toward reaching it.

Today, the Brandywine, Maryland entrepreneur and operations executive brings more than two decades of experience in logistics, transportation and operational leadership. He has led a seven-state expansion, carried more than $10 million in P&L responsibility, risen to the top ranks of LegalShield, and built technology platforms for athletes and businesses. Through all of it, he has carried the lesson of that first million and passed it on to the people he helps.

Why the Next Million Is Harder

The first million is usually powered by the founder: long hours, direct selling, personal relationships, and a willingness to do whatever the day requires. The next one demands something different. Chichester’s message to the business owners he works with is simple: what got you to the first million will not get you to the second.

  1. The founder becomes the bottleneck. You can no longer personally handle every client and every deal. Growth needs systems that work without you.
  2. People cost money before they make money. Hiring, training and managing a team add cost long before they add revenue.
  3. Overhead and cash flow tighten. Insurance, payroll, contracts and compliance grow faster than income, and bigger contracts mean bigger bills up front, with payment weeks or months later.
  4. The skills change. Selling and doing win the first million. Delegating, building leaders and running systems win the next.

Protecting the First

Protecting the first million means building a business that can survive its own growth: the right structure and solid contracts, strong business credit, proper insurance, cash set aside for hard months, legal protection, and the discipline not to bet everything on the next big deal.

This is where Chichester’s work comes together. His credit repair service helps business owners strengthen their credit. LegalShield gives people and businesses access to legal protection. And his operations work builds the systems that keep growth from collapsing under its own weight. The next million depends less on the founder doing more, and more on the organization working better.

02 / PROOF IN PEOPLE

Helping Others Reach Their Dreams

Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia

Chichester measures success by how many people he lifts with him, and across Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia, that work is ongoing.

Troy’s Second Chance

Troy and Chichester have been friends since high school. When Troy came home after serving time, he had no job, no income and few people offering him a way forward.

Chichester did. He sat down with Troy and taught him a system, step by step. Within eight to ten months, Troy had earned nearly $300,000.

For Chichester, stories like Troy’s are the real measure of a career. Revenue can rise and fall. A person who has learned how to build never loses that.

The same commitment runs through the rest of his work. Through his credit repair service, he helps business owners strengthen their credit and gain access to the capital they need to grow. Through LegalShield, he helps aspiring entrepreneurs start businesses of their own. And for organizations, including Affinitas, NexPhase and Frison Law Firm, where he serves as Chief Operating Officer and an Advisory Board Member, he builds the operations, systems and staffing that let them scale.

03 / A RECORD OF RESULTS

Building and Expanding Organizations

Expansion is easy to draw on a map and hard to deliver on the ground. Each new market brings different staffing needs, client expectations and service conditions.

At Affinitas, Chichester led the operational growth that expanded the organization across seven states, coordinating a growing workforce, strengthening client relationships and making sure a larger footprint worked as one organization. At La-Z-Boy, he carried more than $10 million in P&L responsibility, overseeing the revenue and costs of a substantial operation.

Across two decades in logistics and transportation, that discipline has defined his work: aligning partners and requirements, and mastering the operational details that reliable delivery depends on.

Among LegalShield’s Elite

Within LegalShield, Chichester rose to Double Platinum Executive Director, one of the highest ranks in the company. In 2025, he was named to the Circle of Champions, an honor reserved for the very top performers company-wide.

Those honors reflect the people he has developed as much as his own results: associates who came to him with an idea and left with direction, skills and the confidence to own their future. For him, a successful year is one in which more people are leading than the year before.

Business Development and Government Contracting

Chichester also brings deep experience in business development and government contracting: proposal writing, requirements review, contract pursuits and operational planning. He helps organizations understand what a contract requires, organize their resources and pursue opportunities with confidence.

04 / WHAT COMES NEXT

Technology Built to Help Others

Chichester’s newest work turns his experience into technology.

NIL Nate / NexPhase NIL

NIL Nate is a live, AI-powered Name, Image and Likeness platform that helps student-athletes understand NIL and make smart decisions about their opportunities. It gives a new generation the guidance on the business side of their talent that earlier generations of athletes never had.

MASON Command Center

MASON Command Center is an enterprise operations platform Chichester built to bring a business’s daily operations into one place, turning decades of operational experience into software.

From the Football Field to the Boardroom

Long before boardrooms and business plans, Chichester earned his place on the football field. At the University at Buffalo, he was named a first-team Don Hansen Football Gazette All-American for the 1995 season as a senior defensive back, according to the University at Buffalo Reporter’s historical account.

He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Buffalo. The lessons of the field carried straight into business: prepare every day, know your role, perform under pressure, and remember that the team’s result matters more than any one player’s.

The Work Ahead

In May 2026, Chichester earned a Doctorate in Economic Growth & Development, adding academic depth to a career built on a practical question: how businesses grow, and how they keep what they build.

He knows the answer from experience. He earned his first $1.5 million in two years. He has led organizations across seven states and carried eight-figure responsibility. And he has watched people like Troy go from nothing to a new life.

The first million may be the easy part. Helping others reach their dreams, and keep what they build, is the work Dr. Michael Chichester has chosen.
